The Sturgis rally happens every summer, typically in the August timeframe.

It's first event was August 14th, 1938 and was begun by the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club with a lineup of 9 racers in the event and only a handful of spectators.

The event now draws over a half a million people to Sturgis every year for not only the races but some excellent riding in the Black Hills.
Nearby is  Deadwood, Spearfish, Wall South Dakota, Yellowstone Park in Montana, Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, and much more.
